The issue of political parties and young people is a broad issue that needs thorough discussion. The reason why I am saying this is that many young people of today do not like associating themselves with any political party. There is that ideology among young people that politics is only meant for old people. To some extent, this can be true because if you study the political system of the country very well today, you will find that most of the political seats have been occupied by older people. This can be one of the reasons why political parties and the young people are on two different levels. There are various reasons why the young people should be incorporated in political parties. I am going to mention some of the important reasons why it is essential to include the youth in various political parties. The first reason is that young people are the leaders of tomorrow therefore; having them in political parties will secure the future of the country. People do not work forever, they will reach a point where they will feel they need to retire and enjoy their lives. And once they retire, who will take up offices? It should be the young people, who should take up the seats and continue leading. Therefore it is important to get the young people involved in the political parties so that they start preparing to take up the positions.
The second reason is that the young people are energetic and have fresh ideas that will help to move the country forward. Anytime one thinks about young people, energy comes into their minds. This is what the young people are. They are energetic and have the willingness to drive for change. This means that they can work more and therefore produce more for the parties. They also have new wonderful ideas that can be brought on the tables that will lead to the development of the political parties. Their developmental ideas are worth being followed because they will bring more change.
These are just two main reasons that should encourage young people to take positions in political parties. There are going to be dire consequences if the youth do not take up these positions. Among the reasons include the following: if the young do not have take up positions in the political parties, there is the risk of losing the leaders of tomorrow. Secondly, the existing political parties will fall. Thirdly, we will not have any innovative leaders and finally the country may loose on the chance of developing.
These are just some of the consequences of not having young people in political parties. Political parties and young people is a crucial topic that should be taken seriously. The older generation should educate the young people on the importance of parties.
